What is Science Olympiad?

Science Olympiad is a non-profit organization devoted to improving science education, increasing student interest in science, and recognizing achievement in science education by students and teachers.

A state competition is held each year at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion with approximately 10 teams participating from schools around South Dakota.

Schools can send teams of 15 students to compete in three types of events: science knowledge, problem solving, and technology based application of science concepts.  Students can earn individual recognitions for placing in events and the top three teams receive trophies for their schools.
